Hadleigh Guildhall

M. R. James found Hadleigh a pleasant town and I'm inclined to agree with him on this, and much else. His book 'Suffolk and Norfolk' features an illustration of a bench-end found in the church just opposite the Guildhall pictured here - that of a dog-like figure holding a severed head by the hair in its grinning mouth. Spectres have been reported flitting amongst the graves here.
