Love Stories of the Undead art gallery JMF I've always loved illustrated books and it's such a shame that most examples of them seemed confined to children's works. When it came to producing my first book I knew I wanted it to be illustrated throughout - a beautifully presented item to showcase the written work within. At one point I'd considered doing the illustrations myself - first with eerie black and white location photography and later with pen and ink illustration, but I got no further than two of these - for 'Crimson Lips' and 'Sentinels'. Therefore I excitedly began to look around for an artist to work with, eager to see what they would create from my scenes. I'd never worked with Steve Lines before, but his atmospheric - and largely Hammer horror influenced - final pieces, pleased me greatly.
